Finally, an Update!

We are now in Thermopolis, Wyoming.... home of the largest hot springs in the world (or so they say). We're on our way to Yellowstone. Wyoming is supposed to have a population of 500,000, but I haven't seen any people yet, just lots of deer and towns populated exclusively with cowboys. I am posting here some photos from our camping trip at Moraine Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park... amazing place... we could have stayed more than 4 days, that's for sure. We're still waiting to see our first real bear!

Photos from the first week

These are a bit out of order, but here are the photos from our first week. A view of Colorado Springs from the reservoir behind Jennifer's house, some photos from the top of Capulin Volcano (lots of ladybugs up there!), a bit of Black Mesa, the Great Sand Dunes, and some related scenery. I will post the photos from Pike's Peak later. Enjoy!

Week One: An Amazing Beginning

Willow and I have been on the road since July 5th. It has been terrific! We started out camping at Alabaster Cavern State Park, spent the next night at Black Mesa State Park (the northwestern-most part of Oklahoma!), climbed down into the crater of Capulin Volcano in New Mexico, and camped at the Great Sand Sand Dunes National Park. Now we're hanging out with our friend Jennifer in Colorado Springs. We went to the top of Pikes Peak yesterday (14,000 feet elevation!). We also visited with other friends who used to live in Norman (Jan & Wendy Anderson and their families).
